Water Heaters Are Interesting (To Us)

There are four types of common water heaters used in most homes today. What type of water heater do you have?

  • Conventional water heaters will store water in a tank and are available in a variety of sizes. Gas or electricity is used as the energy that heats the water at a set temperature. This type of heater can last for at least 10-15 years with regular maintenance.
  • The Tankless water heater is much more energy efficient since it heats water only as it is needed. The heater goes to work only when the tap is turned on. It will provide a continuous supply of hot water thereafter. This type of water heater requires a very little space, and can be hanged on a wall. The lifespan of such a heater is between 15-20 years while it helps save at least 30% on your monthly energy bills.
  • Hybrid Heat Pump water heaters are another type of water heater on the market. This tank storage system extract heat from the air and/or ground to heat water.
  • Solar water heating systems are the other type of system. It uses the sun’s energy to heat the water in your home.
